Photos from a walk in "Hvězda" park
Memories from a lovely walk with a group of international students and researchers to the Prague 6-Petřiny, where is seat of the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences. I gave to our foreign colleagues overview of an institute´s history and shared with them fascinatng life story of its founder, the remarkable Professor Otto Wichterle, the inventor of Silon and soft contact lenses. From there, it is just a short walk to the Hvězda Game Reserve and the Hvězda Summer Palace, built in the mid-16th century by Archduke Ferdinand II of Tyrol. Combining history by touring the interior of the Hvězda/Star summer palace with a stroll through the park's tree-lined avenues was a wonderful experience.
